Cashier and Claims Editor · Tucson, Arizona

For six years I worked medical billing claims. What that job really teaches you is the vocabulary of waiting. A claim is submitted, then it is pending, then it is adjudicated, then maybe it is paid, and each of those words means something different to the person in the system and nothing at all to the person waiting on the money. I answered the phone to people who had been told their claim was approved three weeks earlier and still had no payment, and I had to explain that approved and paid are two separate events.

Casino cashiers use the exact same sleight of hand, just with better graphics. Your withdrawal gets marked complete on the operator's side and the operator considers the job finished. Your bank has not seen a cent. Both parties are telling the truth and you are still refreshing an empty account. Nobody on either end is incentivised to explain which stage you are actually stuck in.

I built this site to name the stage. Every casino on this page has taken real deposits from me and been asked for real money back, sometimes at deliberately inconvenient hours. What I record is where the delay sat, because a queue you understand is far less infuriating than one you do not.

You should also know that some of these operators pay a commission when a reader signs up. I have kept the right to be rude about them anyway, and I have used it. There are welcome offers on this page I would tell my own sister to decline, attached to brands that rank well on everything else.
